88810 Speedbor Spade Drill Bit, 5/8 In., 6 In. Oal

The Irwin 88810 Speedbor spade drill bit is a flat-flute wood-boring tool with a grooved hex shank that fits all standard quick-change chucks. The double cutting spurs and blue-groove point design deliver faster drilling with reduced breakout and splintering at the hole edge.

This 5/8-inch diameter bit is 6 inches overall length with a 1/4-inch hex shank. Spade bits are chosen for applications requiring speed and clean hole edges, particularly where finish quality matters and tearout must be minimized.

Features and Benefits

• Blue-Groove Point and Cutting Edge: Designed for faster chip removal during drilling operations.
• Double Cutting Spurs: The two spurs scribe the perimeter of the hole as the bit enters, containing wood fibers and significantly reducing breakout and splintering at the hole edge.
• Grooved Hex Shank: The hexagonal shank with grip grooves fits securely in standard quick-change chucks and prevents slipping during operation.
• Rapid Chip Evacuation: The blue-groove scoop design enables efficient removal of wood chips and sawdust, supporting faster drilling performance.
