208490 Sure-temp Attic Insulation Shield, 8-in., Stainless Steel

The Selkirk 208490 Sure-Temp Attic Insulation Shield is a stainless steel firestop and joist shield designed for use wherever a ceiling support, finish support, or joist shield is installed below an open attic. This essential component protects your chimney system by preventing blown-in or blanket insulation from filling framed openings and contacting the chimney, which could create a fire hazard from combustibles stored against the chimney wall.

Installation of this attic insulation shield is required to guard against the hazard of blown-in or blanket insulation filling any framed opening or contacting the chimney and possible storage of combustibles against the chimney. It helps ensure your heating system operates safely in homes with attic insulation.

Features and Benefits

• Prevents Insulation Contact: Guards against the hazard of blown-in or blanket insulation filling framed openings or contacting the chimney.
